Ms. Chentsova specializes in civil law, investment, oil and gas, mining and environmental legislation, private international law.
More than eighteen Ms. Chentsova has been advising major international oil and mining companies and leading domestic companies on the issues of subsoil use, investments and contracts, civil, environmental and corporate legislation, privatization, litigation and arbitration. Major international banks, financial organizations, telecommunication and other companies are also among her clients.
Ms. Chentsova has participated in several governmental working groups for the development of important commercial legislative acts for the Republic of Kazakhstan (including the RK Civil Code, Foreign Investment Law, Petroleum Law, etc.).
Ms. Chentsova is an arbitrator in a number of Kazakhstan and international arbitration courts, including the Arbitration Commission under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan (since 1995).
Ms. Chentsova is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) and Vice-President of the Kazakhstan Petroleum Lawyers Association (KPLA).
Since 2002, Chambers & Partners has been listing her among the world’s leading lawyers in the sphere of energy and natural resources. After graduation from the law department of Kazakh State University she stayed at the university to teach civil, economic and Roman law. In 1990, she earned a degree of the Candidate of Science (Law). In 1990-1991, she worked as an advisor at the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 1991 to 1993, she headed the legal department of Kazmetallexport, a state-owned foreign trade company. Since the establishment of AEQUITAS in 1993, she has been its Managing Partner.
She regularly publishes articles on various aspects of commercial law and subsoil use legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in foreign and local publications.
