Yelena Bychkova from AEQUITAS participated in the Expert Council meeting at the Antimonopoly Agency

On 16 August 2011, the Expert Council meeting dedicated to consideration of the Draft Law on Introduction of Amendments into Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Issues of Competition, was held at the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Protection of Competition (Antimonopoly Agency).

Yelena Bychkova, AEQUITAS associate and member of the Non-Profit Partnership "Competition Support in the CIS," took part in this meeting of the Expert Council, presenting her proposals on the introduction of amendments into the current antimonopoly legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and commenting on certain Draft Law provisions developed by the Antimonopoly Agency.

The Draft Law is aimed at bringing the normative legal base of the Customs Union member states into compliance with the Agreement on Unified Principles and Rules of Competition (Moscow, 9 December 2010), as well as at further improvement of the current antimonopoly legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
