AEQUITAS partner assigned to the official working group for the discussion of amendments to the Kazakhstan's current environmental legislation

Pursuant to the Order of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, AEQUITAS partner, Nurlan Sholanov, was assigned to the official Working Group for the discussion of amendments to the Kazakhstan's current environmental legislation.

The Working Group comprises representatives of several ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, major nature users and different professional associations.  The proposed amendments suggest a profound revision of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and related subordinate legislation, as well as amendments to the Tax Code, Administrative Code, Subsoil Law and a number of other regulatory acts. 

The first meeting of the Working Group took place on 29 August 2013.  On 3 October 2013, the Working Group members had a meeting with the Minister of Environment where the parties exchanged opinions and proposals regarding further cooperation in furtherance of the project.
