Nurlan Sholanov specialises in civil law, corporate, and land legislation. He joined Aequitas in 1995, having previously worked as an adviser in the Apparatus of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Nurlan has years of experience in corporate relations, construction, property, obligations securing, as well as providing legal support to international financial transactions. In his current role, Nurlan focuses on project financing, transactions structuring, and various corporate issues related to providing legal support to those doing business in Kazakhstan.  He also supervises the work on litigation and interaction with the state bodies within the area of his speciality.

Nurlan graduated from the Law Faculty of the Kazakh State University (majored in civil and economic law) in 1994.

He is a member of the Board of Directors (independent director) of Renaissance Capital-Kazakhstan.
