Prior to joining Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners in 2002, Mr Chernyshov held leading legal positions in a number of commercial enterprises. In 2007 Mr Chernyshov was promoted to partner, Head of Litigation Department.

At Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners, Mr Chernyshov manages high-profile corporate and litigation projects. Mr Chernyshov regularly represents major Russian and foreign companies in complex corporate conflicts, he successfully defended companies opposing hostile takeovers and acted as counsel in antirust proceedings. He also has extensive experience in advising on complex deals and investment projects, including getting antitrust clearance for major deals and investment projects.

He is the author of "The International Comparative Legal Guide to: Competition Litigation in Russia" and monograph "Aspects of corporate litigation in the course of hostile takeovers", as well as numerous articles in the industry press. He is highly recommended as one of Russia's leading Competition Lawyers by Global Competition Review (2008), Chambers Europe (2008, 2009), Who's Who Legal (2008, 2009), Best Lawyers® (2009), etc.

Mr Chernyshov graduated from the St. Petersburg State University (LLM, magna cum laude, 1999), International Law Institute, Washington DC, 2003. He is a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, and the Council General of Non-Commercial Partnership "Facilitation of Competition Development".
